PREMISE
A complete re-imagining of the 2009 Oren Peli film. Following a brutal accident that takes the life of her sister, struggling horror author Katie Sloat moves her husband, Micah, young nephew, Hunter, and herself cross-country to a historical colonial style home. What begins as a fresh start, however, takes a twisted turn as Hunter makes a new "imaginary" playmate: Tobi. Soon after, escalating, truly disturbing paranormal events plague the small family and lead Katie to investigate the sinister truth behind her seemingly ideal new home.

KATIE SLOAT: 31. Sweet, energetic, and very sarcastic. A semi-well known horror author with a severe case of writers block. Putting all her non-creative energy into a less-than-enthused Hunter, that is - until Tobi shows up.
MICAH SLOAT: 32. Smart, easygoing, and a charmer. A chronic procrastinator now forced to get a serious job with Hunter around. Not easy for an aspiring director so far from LA. Instead he’s now been roped in as the local cameraman for the news.
HUNTER REY: 8. Reserved, depressed, and unsure. A few months ago Hunter was a bubbly ray of sunshine - but his parents deaths have hurt him greatly. Just when it seems a fresh start might help, however, his new friend, “Tobi” begins to bring out his darker side.
KELLY MARCONI: 32. Talkative, observant, and friendly. Takes an interest in sparking a friendship with new neighbor Katie rather quickly. A deeply spiritual woman who makes it her mission to work with Katie to find out what evil lurks in her home.
GRANT DALTON: 40. Serious, hard-edged, but gentle. Grant is the priest at the local church that Kelly attends. A firm believer that evil walks around in many forms - including ghosts. A personal connection, however, has him fearing the Sloat home.
TOBI: The mysterious entity whom occupies the Sloat home. At first, he appears to be seemingly harmless. But as time goes on, it becomes clear his intentions are anything but.
MELANIE FAIRE: 60s. Micah’s pretentious and overbearing new boss. Seems to think she “owns” her employees - making Micah work long hours. Knows she’s a right pain in the ass, she just doesn’t care.
RYAN PARSONS: 40. Katie’s smooth-talking publicist. Seems to always be pitching something, whether it’s good for his clients or not. Currently putting the pressure on Katie for a new book.
