That's great. I'm excited about it, especially because those early slashers (especially Black Christmas) had such an interesting vibe to them.
Also glad to hear that Hell Fest is coming along so quickly!

Also glad to hear that Hell Fest is coming along so quickly! i think the most fun is getting the chance to cast A-listers in this. Given it’s a more sophisticated kind of whodunit and the original was by the man who did The Godfather it’s one of the few chances I get outside Scream to cast big names. 🤣

like I started with imagining big names in it and backspaced then went. “Wait the guy who directed The Godfather did the original. I could so make this in the tone of a big budget remake lmfao. What am I doing?”

This is something I’d really like to do but haven’t gotten around to. Let’s see what y’all think... HAPPY D3ATH DAY THE NIGHTMARE ENDS... Tree Gilman finally got the life she wanted when the loop was closed. And yet she’s still haunted by nightmares, and the painful feeling of yet more unfinished business - especially when Sisi is finally allowed new funding. Then one year later, her nightmares come true: a second Babyface emerges, claiming Lori wasn’t the only one out there that night. As a body count mounts, Tree sees only one way to solve the mystery: return to the loop one final time and finally solve the mystery hidden in plain sight all along: who was really under the mask that night? Or risk losing her friends - this time, for good. Blumhouse refuses to give us a trilogy so I’m going to do one final one to end it all. This one is going back to leaning more toward horror a la the original and will also ignore the after-the-credits in 2U. As well as solve some unanswered questions I had regarding the original. Mainly I feel like there was definitely two killers in the original so I’m going to solve my own self-made mystery for fun! Problem being I haven’t decided who the second killer was so standby. 🤣

I'd be interested in this, but I really hope it'd be more horror oriented than the first two (especially the second).
This is one of the most disappointing franchises in horror history for me. I love the idea, the cast is certainly giving it their all, and it has good production values... but the execution of the concept is a complete bomb for me. They're both solid movies, but ugh. The tone feels all wrong and the mystery is a complete afterthought in both.

Hopefully it will add something to both for you.

I def trust that you'd add something worth actually getting invested in, unlike the actual movies which don't take anything seriously enough to care (other than some great dramatic moments in the sequel).

I think my story will add something to those stories hopefully. I really want to change things up and give a good wrap-up. Starting with finally giving us the slasher we all deserve, and then changing things up by now having Tree willingly re-enter the loop as the plot implies. I’ve got a lot of new elements being added here that I think will please everyone. I just got to find the perfect way to satisfyingly answer that lingering question of who was really under the mask? Were they working together like... The killers in Part 2 that lent credence to my theory there was more than one in the original? In general, Part 2 is a great movie, but I still think it needs this to truly bring the story to a satisfying end. And I hope I can deliver that.
