Have an idea that’s not quite ready for a thread? Post them here! Engage others about yours and their ideas and see what others are thinking!
I may post a few of these myself for upcoming ideas I plan to pursue.

Not my next project. But I’m widely circling this one recently with the announcement of that reboot. In my own attempt to reboot the series. It’s a reworking of an old idea but more a straight-Chucky film than my last idea... CHILD’S PLAY Everyone remembers their first best friend... Following the death of serial killer Charles Lee Ray, Kenny Thompson’s father, an avid doll collector, makes a morbid purchase: the Good Guy doll he died clutching. At first, Kenny finds himself simply disturbed by the doll’s morbid history - then the murders begin. As a body count grows around him and Kenny begins to notice the doll - named Chucky - in odd places around the house his suspicion grows. Is Chucky just a doll with over a thousand built-in words and phrases, and an unusually intelligent AI as advertised? Or is there a far more sinister answer awaiting him, his friends, and family? Find out in this chilling reboot of the horror franchise.

And my next project officially is... And I can now officially drop my next project... After four years back in the works... URBAN LEGEND DO YOU KNOW HOW THE STORY GOES? Twenty years ago, Ally Pearson’s father brutally murdered three students at Pendleton University in the now infamous Stanley Hall. Today, while attending the college, her father’s escapades have faded quietly into the realm of urban legend - where Ally wants it to stay. That is - until someone dressed in her father’s infamous parka begins to recreate other infamous urban legends while spreading a reign of terror across campus. Could the stories be true? Is her father still alive and looking for a brutal reunion? Or has someone decided to spin their own legend through the halls of this prestigious college? Find out in this reboot of the slasher franchise.

This got resurrected from the dead after watching the messy remake of an already messy film so... DEMENTIA 13 YOU’RE CORDIALLY INVITED TO THE MOST TERRIFYING GATHERING OF THE YEAR.. At the request of their dying mother, the Halorand children have returned home to be at her impending deathbed. However, the event also falls on the birthday of her deceased youngest child, Kathleen, and she has invited them for an ultimatum. Either one of them confesses to her murder, or she disinherits them all, leaving them penniless. As tensions mount, things are only further complicated as the gathered family members begin to be taken out by someone with a literal axe to grind. So glad to have a place where I’m not nervous to share new ideas.

I forgot the remake even happened. I need to watch it, though. I really like the original, flaws and all. Come to think of it, that one's probably due for a rewatch from me as well.
Your take sounds interesting!

Your take sounds interesting! You see I loved elements of both but they both were messy af for different reasons. I plan to merge what made both great and deliver something unnervingly scary. After all it combines my two favorite horror genres the slasher and haunted house feature.

The combination of haunted house and slasher is definitely intriguing, and definitely gonna be tough to pull off. I don't remember if the original had that aspect or not since it's been a while, but I do remember seeing the trailer for the remake and wondering how it'd be executed.

But in mine the haunted house is going to be *far* more subdued and less in your face. I just use the haunted house background to build up the atmosphere. It compliments the story rather than shoehorns itself in.

That sounds like probably the best way that it could be handled, so it doesn't get in the way of the slasher aspect. Looking forward to it.

Yeah I just love the idea of using the dual lore aspect though. Like are those eerie footsteps you hear the killer or little Kathleen’s ghost left to walk the halls for all eternity? It’s going to make it very unique or so I hope. I’m drawing a lot of inspiration from old school whodunnits and haunted house films - but speficially the novel, The Haunting of Hill House and the original Black Christmas are going to serve as a huge inspiration for my take.

Yeah, that's definitely a key selling point of the project. I think that's interesting. I see you casually name-dropping my fave movie of all time as an inspiration.

To be fair now that I’ve outlined the characters I stand by this even more. It’s going to be very inspired by the earliest slashers and gothic ghost stories. I’m very excited to write this next once Hell Fest is done. Which it’s already halfway there so.
