CHAPTER ONE (2017)
CHAPTER TWO (2019)
CHAPTER TWO (2019)
PLOT: Based on Stephen King's classic novel. In the summer of 1989, a group of bullied kids band together to destroy a shape-shifting monster, which disguises itself as a clown and preys on the children of Derry, their small Maine town. Twenty-seven years later, the Losers Club have grown up and moved away, until a devastating phone call brings them back.
With the release of the trailer for CHAPTER TWO today (embedded above), there's finally a reason for me to get around to making this thread. I enjoyed CHAPTER ONE quite a bit despite the abundance of jump-scares and a few fairly lame bits of humor (New Kids on the Block). I can't wait to see the second part. It'll be interesting to see how they adapt some of the more... interesting aspects of the book, or whether they'll even try since some of it is pretty bonkers - and not necessarily in a way that will be easy to adapt in cinematic form.
What does everyone think about the trailer for CHAPTER TWO?
Overall, I'm liking the look of this. Most of the trailer was just from that single scene so it's hard to form an overall opinion of the film, but the quick cuts that ended the trailer looked incredibly promising and that last shot was chilling. I do have to say, there were certain things that really stuck out as particularly awkward.
The shots of the old woman dancing (?) around and peeking from around corners behind Beverly were incredibly cringey.
Maybe it's just the way the scene had to be cut down for the trailer and they'll work better in the actual film, but those were very odd. Either way, I'm pumped for this. I'll be there opening day.
